DRIFTLESS HUMANE SOCIETY
We are a no-kill dog and cat shelter, located in Viroqua, Wisconsin. We accept cats and dogs that need assistance, regardless of age or health status.
We strive to find homes for all healthy cats and dogs, including those with treatable medical/behavioral conditions. Our job is to provide shelter, food, and enrichment programs for our animals. We work closely with our veterinarians to provide state of the art medical care.

DHS is collecting gently worn, used, and new shoes to raise funds that directly support our mission. We earn funds based on the total weight of shoes collected—so every pair makes a difference!
Together, we’re helping animals, people, and the planet. It keeps shoes out of landfills and gives them a second life in developing countries, where local micro-entrepreneurs sell them to support their families.

Volunteer Orientations
Volunteer orientations are only given online through a link here on our website. Click the “Volunteer” tab under “Get Involved” at the top of this page to fill out the online application, then you can complete the orientation form. This form consists of a few short demonstrational videos along with questions to ensure applicant engagement.
